Louw Roets' design is informed by a combination of traditional methods and modern technology with an experimental approach to the selection of techniques and materials. His foundation being industrial design, Louw embraces the principles of Bauhaus modernism in furniture design, creating clean, pure lines based on an understanding of classical furniture craftsmanship coupled with careful research into materials, proportions and the requirements of the human body.
Louw aims to create pieces that are true to the process and technique that created them, and which communicates an exploration of the boundary between design and functional art. The showroom and factory is based in Somerset West, South Africa and is open for commissions and projects.
"To evoke and be part of a society where we design with passion and the human touch is valued, where we forget about what is trending and rather make our work personal is the fundamental ideology behind my work."
